You are warmly invited to a ritual to help dissolve ancestral coagulation and free ourselves to move.
Many of us sense ancestral patterns inhibiting our capacity to be fully ourselves and to move freely. A sense that while some things come easy, others feel sticky, tangled or weirdly intractable. This ritual will draw on the myth of Inanna’s descent. We will explore the section where Inanna is hung on a meat hook in the underworld, and on how she is released from it.
There is a word in Dagara culture that translates as “the thing that knowledge cannot eat”. We’ve all got ‘the thing’, it just takes some remembering. In her gospel, Mary Magdalene describes the ‘thing’ as nous, often translated as the “eye of the heart”. I’m curious how we might experiment with bringing this ‘thing’, this ‘eye of the heart’ into ritual together.
